Setting Up Wellness Tracking for Trading Performance

Configure wellness logging and understand how sleep, exercise, and stress correlate with your trading results.

Wellness tracking connects your physical and mental state to your trading performance. This guide explains how to set it up and interpret the results.

Enabling Wellness Tracking

1Navigate to Settings then Session Preferences
2Toggle Wellness Check-In to On
3Choose which metrics to track:
Sleep hours and quality (recommended)
Exercise (yes/no + intensity)
Stress level (1-10)
Energy level (1-10)
Focus level (1-10)

All metrics are optional—enable the ones most relevant to your situation.

Logging Your Wellness

When you start a new session, a wellness check-in card appears before the pre-market checklist:

1Enter your sleep duration (hours) and quality (1-10)
2Note whether you exercised today and at what intensity
3Rate your current stress, energy, and focus levels

The entire check-in takes under 30 seconds.

Viewing Correlations

Navigate to Analytics then Wellness to see the correlation dashboard.

Scatter Plots

Each wellness metric has a scatter plot showing its relationship with your trading performance:

X-axis: Wellness metric value
Y-axis: Session P&L or average R-multiple
Trend line: Shows the direction and strength of the relationship

Correlation Coefficients

Each metric displays a correlation coefficient (r):

r > 0.3: Meaningful positive correlation (this metric helps your trading)
r near 0: No significant relationship
r < -0.3: Meaningful negative correlation (this metric hurts your trading)

Comparison Tables

Side-by-side comparison of performance metrics on "good" wellness days versus "poor" wellness days. For example:

Win rate when sleep > 7 hours: 62%
Win rate when sleep < 6 hours: 44%

The Wellness Impact Score

At the top of the dashboard, a composite score (0-100) summarises your current state based on today's wellness inputs and their historical correlation with your performance.

Using the Score

80-100: Trade normally
60-79: Trade with caution, consider smaller size
40-59: Reduce exposure significantly
Below 40: Consider skipping the session

The Radar Chart

The radar chart displays all five wellness metrics simultaneously, showing your current state versus your optimal state (based on historical best-performing sessions).

Points extending to the edge: Close to optimal
Points near the centre: Below optimal

Building Your Minimum Standards

After 30 or more sessions with wellness data, you will have enough data to set evidence-based minimums:

1Look at the scatter plots for clear thresholds
2Identify the wellness levels below which your performance degrades
3Create trading rules: "I will not trade full size if sleep < 6 hours"
4Add these to your rule adherence tracking

Data Requirements

Wellness correlation becomes meaningful after approximately 30 sessions with consistent logging. Before that threshold, the data is too sparse for reliable conclusions. Be patient and log consistently.
